A female Colleague of mine who happens to be my closest friend approaches me for advice she called “Man of God” yes woman of God I replied she nodded hmm there is fire on the mountain, round round round I replied. Nawa for you oohh when will you be tired of beeing funny? What’s funny there? If at all there is fire on the mountain the fire should be round and round and round as I used to recite in my nursery school days or is the fire not round round round if it is not then the fire is not on the mount that was my replied we all laugh. It is true my reply sounds funny but the truth is that we should always try to put smiles on people faces with our sweet words, your mouth alone has all it takes to change situations.
Ephesians 4:29 – “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers”
This is the truth most of broken homes is as the result of lacks of good responds to each other some people are fun of saying anything that hit their mouth to their spouse without thinking of it consequence.
Proverbs 15:1 – “A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.”
The Bible commands us to keep away all unpleasant communication not only in our homes but anywhere
Colossians 3:8 – “But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.” The words out of your mouth can turned against you
Matthew 15:18 “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.”
Matthew 12:37 – “For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned”
Romans 3:4 – “God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.”
God created the Heavens and earth, light and darkness with the words of His mouth- Genesis 1:1-31, that means our mouth is a powerful tools to build and to destroy-
Proverbs 18:21 – “Death and life [are] in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”
James 3:8 – But the tongue can no man tame; [it is] an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
James 3:2 – For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same [is] a perfect man, [and] able also to bridle the whole body.
Mark 11:23 – For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
The bible say that the word was in existent from the beginning and the word is God- John 1:1 – “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” Then why will one use God to defile another person?
Proverbs 17:27 – He that hath knowledge spareth his words: [and] a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit.
Remember that it wasn’t jazz/juju that the serpent uses to deceived woman but words of it mouth- Genesis 3:1 – Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
In other to well secure your integrity/dignity your words must be holy- James 1:26 – “If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion [is] vain.”
2 Timothy 2:15 – Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
As you can see in this very passage that WORD keeps records of words in heaven-“1 John 5:7 – For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.” That means at the end we will all render an account of our words- Matthew 12:36 – But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
So let us use our mouth in good manner to build a long lasting and successful home and life. May the Good Lord be with us in Jesus name.
